Crate Train Your Puppy
Getting a new puppy can be very exciting but you have to know that you are going to have to train that puppy if you want it to behave well. You might have to train the puppy so if you have the time, you should learn how you can get to train them. There are a lot of people who are too strict with their puppies that they become really timid and very shy and that can be sad. You should always make your puppy feel safe and secure when they are with you. If you need to keep your puppy in a crate, you might want to learn how you can keep them in a crate for a long time. Crate training for puppies is not that hard but you really have to be very patient with them.
Always make sure that you get a crate that is comfortable and big enough for your puppy to stand and lie down inside. Puppies and dogs can be afraid of things that they are not familiar with so you should associate those cates with your puppy. You should make sure that your puppy is not afraid of those crates and that they can walk in comfortably. If your puppy is a big eater or if they have a favorite toy, you can put the food or that toy inside the crate so that they can step into them without fear. Never allow your puppy to do their potty in the crate because that is a sleeping area and not a poppy place. You should decide where to put the crate before you associate the puppy and crate so that you can be sure that there is no disturbance around.
If you want to leave your puppy in those crates when you leave for work, you should really train them to behave well when they are left in the crate. You can train them for the crate by putting them inside for short periods of times to star with. Leave your puppy in the crate longer and longer until you can leave them in there for a long time. If your puppy does not want you out of their sight, you can start by walking a few meters away and coming right back. Consisancy is key and that is why you should do this daily and each time you do it, increase the time in the crate and the distance that you walk away. Never make your puppy hate the crate but make them feel like it is their home and a safe place that they can stay in.
